Reboot your Cable modem. Turn the Cable modem off for at least 30 seconds and then back on. Wait for the Cable light to become solid. Once the Cable light is solid, this means that your Cable modem has synchronized with the Cable signal on our system.
You should then see Cable light Solid and Data receive/send are starting to flash. Now, try to go online. If you are still unable to connect, please proceed to the next step. If you did not obtain your Cable modem from Volcano Internet, please consult your Cable modem user guide for more information.
Reboot additional devices. If you have rebooted your Cable modem and are still unable to get online, you will need to reboot your other devices. If you have a router, you will need to turn the power off for 30 seconds and then turn the power back on. It is then recommended to reboot any other peripheral equipment such as VOIP phones, computers, cell phones, etc. The order of powering the devices back on seems to make a difference. Make sure the order is modem, router (if you have one), and then other devices.
These steps will normally get your Cable connection back online. If you are still unable to connect to the Internet, please contact our Internet Department at 1.209.296.7574.
FLASHING – data being transferred between the PC and the cable modem.
SOLID – indicates Ethernet/USB carrier is present.
FLASHING – modem is scanning the network and attempting to register.
SOLID – modem is registered.
FLASHES in sync with data sent from the cable modem to the network.
FLASHES in sync with data received from the network to the cable modem.
SOLID – power is being supplied to the cable modem.
POWER – Illuminates solid green to indicate that AC power is being applied to the cable modem.
DS (Downstream) – Indicates the status of the connection for receiving data. Illuminates during normal operation.
US (Upstream) – Indicates the status of the connection for sending data. Illuminates during normal operation.
ONLINE – Illuminates solid green when the cable modem is registered on the network and fully operational. This indicator blinks to indicate one of the following conditions:
• The cable modem is booting up and not ready for data
• The cable modem is scanning the network and attempting to register
• The cable modem has lost registration on the network and will continue blinking until it registers again
LINK – Illuminates solid green to indicate that an Ethernet/USB carrier is present and blinks to indicate that Ethernet/USB data is being transferred between the PC and the cable modem.
100-240 VAC – Connects the cable modem to the DC output of the AC power cord that is provided with your cable modem. To avoid damage to your equipment, only use the AC power cord that is provided with your cable modem.
RESET – Reset-to-Default button (Factory Reset)
Note: This button is for maintenance purposes only. Do not use unless told to do so by your service provider.
ETHERNET – RJ-45 Ethernet port connects to the Ethernet port on your PC.
USB – 12 Mbps USB port connects to the USB port on your PC.
CABLE – F-Connector connects to an active cable signal from your cable service provider.
