Good News! Volcano Communications Lifts Phone Requirement for Internet Service

Volcano Communications is pleased to announce an important update for customers in our phone service area: a traditional landline phone subscription will no longer be required for internet service — for customers subscribing to speeds over 25 Mbps.

More Choices, No Phone Required
Our customers spoke, and we listened. Many have expressed a desire for more flexible options that reflect how people communicate today. Thanks to recent updates to federal and state subsidy regulations, we’re now able to respond to that feedback and remove the previous requirement to bundle phone service with higher-speed internet.
For many years, access to key telecommunications subsidies was dependent on maintaining a landline phone subscription alongside internet service. While this model made sense in the past, today’s consumers rely more on mobile phones and internet-based communication. As the industry has evolved, so have the rules — enabling us to deliver service options that better match the way you connect.
We want to assure all our customers that existing landline services will remain available for those who continue to value or need them. At Volcano, we are committed to offering choice and flexibility, and this update allows us to better serve our customers with modern, unbundled internet offerings.
