SmartBiz takes your existing internet connection and turns it into a fully managed business network. It gives you the ability to create up to four secure, dedicated networks—for example, one for staff, one for customers, and one for your point-of-sale system. You can design a custom-branded guest Wi-Fi portal with your logo, set your own terms of service, and collect customer email addresses for future marketing. SmartBiz™ also includes built-in, business-grade cybersecurity to keep your network safe.
When you add SmartBiz™ to your plan, our business services manager will contact you to schedule a time for a technician to come out. The technician will install a new router if needed, load the SmartBiz software, and walk you through the initial setup to get everything running smoothly. You will receive physical copies of manuals and guides to ensure you are comfortable with all of the SmartBiz features and the CommandWorx mobile app.
You have full control using the CommandWorx mobile app. From there, you can manage networks, update settings, monitor usage, and customize your guest portal without needing IT experience.
SmartBiz is designed for small to medium-sized businesses in any industry, including retail, hospitality, healthcare, offices, and more—anywhere secure, segmented Wi-Fi and customer engagement matter.
SmartBiz includes a customizable Customer Wi-Fi Portal that lets you brand the login experience and collect valuable insights like customer names and emails. You can then use that information to send special offers or updates directly to your customers. It’s an easy way to build loyalty and stay connected—all managed from your phone through the CommandWorx app.
SmartBiz allows you to designate priority devices, ensuring your essential operations—like POS systems or video conferencing—stay running smoothly even during peak usage times.
SmartBiz supports up to four distinct Wi-Fi networks, allowing you to separate business operations, guest access, POS devices, and more for better organization and security.
Yes. SmartBiz lets you add your logo, business name, and custom messaging to the guest Wi-Fi login page to provide a seamless and professional experience for customers. During your initial installation, a tech will help you set up your guest Wi-Fi portal and walk you through the customization options. You’ll be able to adjust your settings anytime through the CommandWorx™ app.
Unlike typical business Wi-Fi from big providers, SmartBiz includes advanced features like four isolated networks, built-in cybersecurity, marketing tools, content controls, and cellular backup—all for just $20 a month. It’s installed and supported locally, and managed easily through the CommandWorx app on your phone. You won’t find this level of control, value, and service bundled together anywhere else.
With any Business Internet plan, you’ll receive priority support. For immediate assistance, contact our Internet Support Team at 1.209.296.7574. For general questions or to discuss your business needs, reach out to our Business Services Manager, Trevor Banner, at 1.209.296.7597 or trevorb@volcanotel.com.
Yes! As long as you have cellular failover set up, whether it’s your mobile phone or another backup device, SmartBiz will automatically switch over to it, keeping your business online without interruption.
The CommandWorx mobile app puts the power of SmartBiz right in your hands, giving you full control over your network and all SmartBiz features—from managing separate networks and setting content restrictions to monitoring activity and accessing customer insights.

Why Our Customers Choose Volcano
Real Stories. Real Connections.
“As a multi media corporation based in Amador County, at Mother Lode Broadcasting we rely heavily on the internet and the latest in technology to serve our consumers, both locally and around the world. When the other services and networks available to us couldn’t keep up, we turned to Volcano Communication. The entire backbone of our organization now runs on the Volcano fiber network. As the only 24/7 source of local news and information for the area, we can’t afford any downtime in our network. Since switching to Volcano, I can count on one hand the number of times we have been down over the past 7 years due to an internet outage. Communication is paramount to us and that’s why we rely on Volcano Communications”
